An UA HES Special Event entitled: ‘Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Modern Ukrainian State’ took place on Sept. 17, 2016 at the Princeton Club in New York City; the list of sponsors included the Center for US-Ukrainian Relations, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, the Ukrainian Institute of America, the Ukrainian Museum of NY, the Ukrainian National Association, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, the Ukrainian Scouting Organization of America and the Ukrainian Youth Association of America. The gathering’s first part featured four panel discussions and three highlight presentations dedicated to taking a fresh, critical look at Ukraine’s Distant Past and Recent Past as well as carefully divining the nation’s Near Future and Further Future. The gathering’s second part featured an evening banquet with reflections upon the Ukraine’s Present Circumstances provided by senior officials (active & retired) of the Ukrainian and United States governments respectively.
