A US-UA WG Yearly Summit gathering wlll again serve to provide Ukraine with an assessment of its performance in six areas of “nation building”. The event, the fourth of its kind and co-sponsored by all of CUSUR”s institutional partners, will take place in the Washington Club of Washington DC on June 16, 2016. An UA HES Special Event entitled: ‘Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Modern Ukrainian State’ is contemplated for Sept. 17, 2016 at the Princeton-Columbia Club in New York City; an initial list of sponsors includes the Center for US-Ukrainian Relations, the Organization for the Defense of Four Freedoms of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, the Ukrainian Institute of America, the Ukrainian Museum of NY, the Ukrainian National Association, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America and the Ukrainian Youth Association of America. The gathering”s first part will feature four panel discussions and three highlight presentations dedicated to taking a fresh, critical look at Ukraine”s Distant Past and Recent Past as well as carefully divining the nation”s Near Future and Further Future. The gathering”s second part will feature an evening banquet with reflections upon the Ukraine”s Present Circumstances provided by senior officials of the Ukrainian and United States governments respectively. A sixth running of the US-UA Energy Dialogue is planned for late August 2016 on the premises of UA American Chamber of Commerce in Kyiv. CUSUR and Am-Cham Ukraine will be joined by the AFPC and the Kyiv International Energy Club to divine the state of energy resources exploration, production and distribution in Ukraine (in the midst of its protracted standoff with RU). program is now available For details please contact us.
In 2015, the UA Quest RT Series returned to its tradition of numbered forums thematically done as trilogies and dedicated to examining overarching national issues (after having run a “situation driven” trilogy in the 2012-2014 period). This year (October 2016), the UA Quest RT will focus on Ukraine and Religious Freedom, the second of three explorations intended to assess UA”s ability to find its own version of “e pluribus unum.” A preliminary program is now available. In late fall 2016, the Center intends to team up with Dentons NYC to run a business gathering that will focus on assessing the efficacy of Ukraine”s economic reform efforts after two years of governance by Euro-Maidan forces and studying carefully the sectors that stand the best changes of quickly re-establishing a serious presence in world markets. An UA HES Special Event entitled: ‘Za Samostinist: Ukraine’s Century of Struggle’ is contemplated for February 2017 in Cambridge, MA at Harvard University’s Davis Center. The gathering will make an effort to provide a historical and comparative political analysis of Ukraine”s various movements for national liberation in the 20th & early 21st centuries, starting with the writings of I. Bachynsky/M. Michnowsky and ending with the Euro-Maidan phenomenon. A preliminary program is now available.
