CUSUR 2016 - Project I
US-UA “Working Group” Initiative

The US-Ukraine “Working Group” Initiative was launched in 2007 in order to secure an array of experts in "areas of interest” for CUSUR and its various forums/proceedings; at the same time, it was hoped that the ‘experts’ might agree to write a series of ‘occasional papers’ to identify “major issues” impacting on US-Ukrainian relations.

CUSUR 2016 - Project III
DC Occasional Briefings Series

CUSUR did not turn its attention to having a DC presence until summer 2012. Borrowing space when the need arose (particularly for various forum steering committees meetings) from the American Foreign Policy Council, its longest abiding partner, seemed to suffice; an Acela ride from the Center’s NY office did the rest. If there was a concern, it was to open an office in Kyiv.

CUSUR 2016 - Project IV
Kyiv Seminars for UA Officials

The several visits of young, fresh minded, reform oriented UA military commanders and national security analysts to various top flight foreign policy think tanks and institutes of higher diplomatic or military learning in DC (prompted in good part by CUSUR invitations to its Occasional Briefings) in the latter part of 2014 prompted the UA MOD to propose a slightly different arrangement for similar discussions/conversations in 2015.

A sixth running of the US-UA Energy Dialogue is planned for December 2016 on the premises of UA American Chamber of Commerce in Kyiv. CUSUR and Am-Cham Ukraine will be joined by the AFPC and the Kyiv International Energy Club to divine the state of energy resources exploration, production and distribution in Ukraine (in the midst of its protracted standoff with RU). program is now available For details please contact us.



UA Historical Encounters Series Forum VII will take place on February 28, 2017. The day long conference, entitled: The ‘Heart of Eastern Europe’ Revisited: Examining Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Relations, will be held at two sites; the afternoon sessions will run at the ever elegant Columbia University Alumni Center and the ‘keynote’ evening session is scheduled for its traditional turn at NYU’s Torch Club. In the spring of 2017, the Center intends to team up with Dentons US to run a business gathering that will focus on assessing the efficacy of Ukraine’s economic reform efforts after two years of governance by Euro-Maidan forces and studying carefully the sectors that stand the best changes of quickly re-establishing a serious presence in world markets. An UA HES Special Event entitled: 'Za Samostinist: Ukraine's Century of Struggle' is contemplated for May 2017 in Cambridge, MA at Harvard University's Davis Center. The gathering will make an effort to provide a historical and comparative political analysis of Ukraine’s various movements for national liberation in the 20th & early 21st centuries, starting with the writings of I. Bachynsky/M. Michnowsky and ending with the Euro-Maidan phenomenon. A preliminary program is now available. For details please contact us.
